SCHLOSS MORSBURG (Castle) in Winterthur. Most of the towers and castle were destroyed in a war back when???? This castle was built in the 13th century. Very interesting but totally different in furnishings from the Kyburg Castle. I am infatuated with the bells in Switzerland. They ring over here all the time - not just one church - but all of them. They sound so beautiful and echo through the mountains. It is just like I had imagined it would be. John says I have bells in my belfry (I think he is mixed up-the saying goes- "bats in your belfry". On the ovens in these castles (there are several in each castle to keep them warm) they have handpainted pictures on them and when the mothers were cooking, the tiles also served as story books for the children. They also had small chairs to tie the children in so they would be quiet and stay out of trouble. Can you imagine your little ones running all through the castle? How would you ever know where they were? Tie them up, then you keep up with them. When we got through touring this castle we sat down at the sidewalk cafe beside the castle up on the mountain (other side of town from Kyburg Castle). Another beautiful view of town and the rolling hills so green. John had a stein and I had a fabulous Bailey's ice cream dessert. They are famous over here for their beautiful dessert bowls of ice cream with fruits on top and lots of whipped cream.

I am not so sure I would want to live in a castle, but they sure look neat to visit. Yea, and the chairs for the kids, um , I don't think so Tim. Although, there are some times I am thinking about that I did need one. Hee hee. The ice cream looks to die for! Love the captions on the pics!
By the way, I think you and Daddy look great! Have you lost weight? I was just thinking the opposite of your caption about your coat. Your legs look skinny as well as the rest of you.
Great pics and I could so go for some of that ice cream right now. I have raging heart burn and ice cream sounds soooo good. yes, I'm jealous!!!
